Howards House is listed in many of the major guides including the Michelin Guide, the Good Food Guide, the Which Hotel Guide and Good Hotel Guide. Egon Ronay described the hotel as "a little gem", Jonathan Meades in the Times wrote "this is a fine outfit and one to return to".
